Driver DownloadHow to Install the HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 Driver for Windows
- Get the printer driver software from the HP’s official website by downloading it onto your device.
- Double-click on the 6968 driver icon to extract the file and then choose ‘Yes‘ on the following pop-up.
- Choose the ‘Continue‘ option post which you have to agree to the installation agreements before clicking ‘Next’.
- The HP 6968 driver software will begin to install onto your device before asking you to choose either ‘Automatic’ or ‘Manual‘ setup.
- Choosing ‘Automatic‘ you’ll prompt the driver to automatically choose a connection without any further intervention from you.
- However, selecting the ‘Manual‘ setup option, you’ll be going to the driver’s connection-type prompt. Here, you can find the options that say ‘Wireless‘, ‘USB‘ or ‘Connect later‘ and you can select either one.
- Making sure that you’ve established a connection between your device and the printer using the USB cable, select the ‘USB‘ option.
- In the case you choose the ‘Wireless‘ option, in the succeeding prompt, the printer devices on your network will appear.
- Connecting the HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 to your network: From the touch screen panel of your OfficeJet Pro 6968 device, tap on the ‘Wireless icon‘. Then, tapping on the ‘Setup‘ icon, touch the ‘Wireless Settings’ option that appears. Succeeding that, tap on the ‘Wireless Setup Wizard‘ option and select your home network from the list of networks. Conversely, manually enter the network’s name by choosing the ‘Enter New Network Name’ option. Procuring your network’s SSID and password, enter it to connect the printer to the said network.

How to Install the HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 Driver for MAC
- Installation of the HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 driver software on your MAC devices is similar to the installation on Windows devices.
- It’s also possible for you to use the OfficeJet Pro 6968 device on MAC without downloading the driver. As HP provides software through the Apple software update, you needn’t download it.
- Making sure the 6968 printer is in a ready state, connect it to the MAC device using USB.
- If your MAC device already has the software for your printer, you’ll see a print queue. If the software is not on your device, on the other hand, you’ll see a prompt to install it.
- Select the ‘Install’ option on the pop-up that appears and manually create a print queue. Alternatively, click on the ‘Apple icon’ and choose ‘System Preferences’ before you select ‘Printers and Scanners’ under ‘Hardware’. Find the print queue on the ‘left pane’ of the dialogue box and if there is no print queue click the + button. Clicking +, choose ‘Add your printer or scanner’ and select your printer in the following prompt to add it.
- The penultimate step is to select the Apple menu again and click on ‘Software update’. Checking to see if there is a software update available for the printer, click on ‘Update’.
- Ultimately, if necessary, you’d have to provide your Apple ID and password and restart your MAC.
